Most people say they
drink alcohol because it makes them feel happy and more
But alcohol can also give
you a hangover and make you feel sick, tired, dehydrated and
depressed. It can also make you do things you might regret, like
have unprotected sex.
Lots of people can enjoy
drinking without it causing them any problems. But some people can
get addicted to it, which means they start to rely on it.
How much is too much
- If you’re a male over
18, the safe recommended limits are no more than 3-4 units a day
but not every day and no more than 28 units a week.
- If you’re female over
18, the safe recommended limits are no more than 2-3 units a day
but not every day and no more than 21 units in a week.
- A unit is half a pint of
beer or a single measure of spirits.
